About Maths Links

Maths Links is a partnership between Gregory Bate and Maryanne Tipler. Maryanne and Greg decided to self publish the Links Mathematics series because the relatively small number of MYP students worldwide make it financially unviable for them to write through a larger publisher.

Maths Links has endeavoured to produce quality resources for the IB programme to aid both teachers and pupils to fully enter into the ethos and spirit of the IB programme. There is a vision to provide a full set of workbooks for the whole 5 years of MYP Mathematics.

About the Authors

Maryanne is a teacher and well- known author who has written many mathematics resources for New Zealand, Britain and Australia over the last 20 years. She has a special interest in the IB area. Maryanne has a hope that mathematics be enjoyed by all students. She believes that integrating mathematics with other subjects and with the areas of interaction makes mathematics more accessible to more students.

Greg has been teaching MYP mathematics for 7 years at the New International School of Thailand and he understands how difficult it is for teachers to put together quality material that meets the expectations of the MYP while ensuring that the quality of mathematics teaching is not compromised. He has taught for 30 years, been active in professional development for teachers and he has worked as a Mathematics Adviser in New Zealand.
